More ways to grow. More ways to connect. Introducing five new 10-week programs designed around what matters to you.

GIFSA has launched five new 10-week skill-building programs for adults with disability: LifeReady (daily living skills), Goldfields Creators (creative arts), Move Well (movement and wellbeing), Our Place (community connection) and LifePlus (social connection). Each program is designed to build practical skills, confidence and community participation at each participant's own pace.

Built around your goals

Each program is designed to build practical skills, confidence and community connection, at a pace participants choose for themselves.

The programs sit alongside GIFSA's existing supports. They're not about replacing what we already offer. They're about giving participants more ways to explore, try new things and work towards their own goals.

The key difference between our existing supports is that these programs run over a 10-week period – enough time to explore and enjoy a new hobby or passion that you might want to pursue even after the programs comes to an end.

The five programs

  • LifeReady: practical daily living skills, from cooking to decision-making and everyday routines. Best for participants wanting to build day-to-day independence.
  • Goldfields Creators: a creative arts program covering art, photography and digital creativity. Best for participants with an interest in creative expression.
  • Move Well: a movement and wellbeing program focused on strength, regulation and feeling good in the body. Best for participants focused on physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Our Place: building confidence, connection and a sense of belonging in the community. Best for participants wanting to explore their local community.
  • LifePlus: a social program built around shared experiences, music and friendship. Best for participants seeking regular social connection.

Participants don't just attend. They progress.

Each program gives participants a say in what they want to work on, whether that's a practical skill, a creative outlet, feeling good in their body or building friendships. Our team supports participants to practise those skills in real-life situations and build confidence along the way.

For 35 years, our supports have focused on helping people live well day to day, through daily living assistance, housing and community participation. These new programs are the next step: giving participants a structured way to build a skill, grow their confidence and work towards something that matters to them individually, alongside the supports we've always offered.
